1. Local document processing
FriendPDF processes files inside your browser with WebAssembly and JavaScript libraries. PDFs, images and generated results are not sent to or stored on our servers. To run the functions, your browser downloads application code from software distribution providers.
2. A private tool handoff
If you choose a file on the home page, FriendPDF temporarily keeps that file only in your browser’s local storage area so it can open in the tool you select. It is deleted as soon as that tool receives it. An unused handoff expires automatically after 30 minutes. The file is never uploaded to FriendPDF.
3. Technical data
The hosting provider may record standard technical information such as IP address, date, requested URL, browser and response code for security, abuse prevention and service operation. These logs do not contain the documents you process locally.
4. Advertising and cookies
FriendPDF may use Google AdSense and other advertising providers. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technology to display and measure advertisements. Google and its partners may personalize ads based on previous visits to this or other websites when a legal basis exists and your preferences allow it.

5. Preferences and consent
The site stores your advertising preference in localStorage under friendpdf_ad_consent. You can remove it in your browser settings. Before serving ads to users in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site operator must enable a Google-certified consent management platform in AdSense.
6. Retention and security
We do not retain your documents because we do not receive them. Temporary results remain in browser memory during the session and are removed when the page is closed or reloaded. No system can guarantee absolute security, so keep a copy of every original file.
7. Changes
We may update this policy when functions, providers or applicable obligations change. The date above identifies the current version.
